World Cup history saw many excellent goalkeepers and Iker Casillas, Dino Zoff, Gordon Banks, Lev Yashin and Gigi Buffon were among them.
Iker Casillas (Spain)
Cañizares's unfortunate accident before the 2002 World Cup accidentally gave Casillas the chance to make a major start and since then he has been the No. 1 goalkeeper in the Spanish wood frame. Casillas has taken charge in all four World Cups (2002, 2006, 2010, 2014). At the 2010 World Cup, when Spain won, Casillas contributed greatly, with a clean sheet to 5 matches. Individual Casillas also won the Golden Gloves.
Dino Zoff (Italy)
The legendary goalkeeper Dino Zoff joined Italy in four World Cups (1974, 1978, 1980, 1982) and won the 1982 World Cup. At the age of 40, Dino Zoff also won the title of best goalkeeper. He also holds the record for the longest goal keeper in the national squad (1,142 minutes, 1972-1974).
Gordon Banks (England)
Gondon Banks was the fulcrum for England to win the 1966 World Cup, the only championship in football history. In England, he was the "holy" and in many polls, he always received the most votes for the best goalkeeper in the history of football fog. Gordon Banks was in second place (after Lev Yashin) in the IFFHS Best Goalkeeper Selection poll.
Lev Yashin (Soviet Union)
Lev Yashin had the honor of appearing in three consecutive World Cups from 1958 to 1966. Yashin's excellence helped a Soviet Union not be overestimated into the 1958 World Cup quarterfinals, 1962. To the 1966 World Cup he and his teammates won the fourth place, eliminating stoppage in the quarterfinals. At the 1970 World Cup, "black spiders" also joined the national team, but on the role of assistant coach and again, the Soviet Union stopped in the quarterfinals. Although not able to win the World Cup but Yashin is still selected as the greatest goalkeeper in this tournament history. Even so, FIFA has named him the best goalkeeper award in the World Cup.
Gigi Buffon (Italy)
Trafficking of goalkeeper Angelo Peruzzi before the 1998 World Cup helped Gigi Buffon get the chance, when he was 19 years old. But in the summer of France, Buffon only made preparations for his brother Gianluca Pagliuca. It was not until the 2002 World Cup that Buffon became the No. 1 goalkeeper of Italy. Since then, Buffon has been involved in the 2006 World Cup, 2010 and 2014. Buffon won the World Cup in 2006, earning him the title Yashin the best).
