The future of Raheem Sterling at Etihad Stadium becomes uncertain as the England and City stars have failed to reach consensus on a new contract.

Manchester City have tied up with stars such as Kevin de Bruyne, Fernandinho, David Silva and Nicolas Otamendi on long-term contracts. Man City are confident they will extend to Sterling ahead of the 2018 World Cup, but negotiations between the two sides are stalling.

Sterling's current deal with City lasts for two years and the British star earns £ 175,000 a week. Sterling said that for his contribution to Manchester City, the player deserves the same salary as De Bruyne (£ 350,000 a week). In the 2017/18 season, the 24-year-old winger scored 23 goals on all fronts for City.

As for City, they are not in a hurry to renew with Sterling. Negotiations will continue after Sterling returns to England from the 2018 World Cup.
