Estadio Insular (Las Palmas) and Mestalla (Valencia) will host Spain's first two matches in the UEFA Nations League. Luis Rubiales, president of the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), told the regional authorities about the decision.

Specifically, Spain will have two matches with Croatia on 11/9 and England on 15/10. Previously, Riazor (Deportiovo) and Benito Villamarín (Real Betis) were also considered, but were eliminated. However, these two stadiums will be the venue for future matches.

The international schedule also allows the team to play two friendly matches on October 12 and November 18, when they have no scheduled UEFA Champions League matches. Therefore, RFEF is planning to use one of these two days to host a match in honor of veteran midfielder Andres Iniesta in his hometown of Albacete. The team that the Spanish Football Federation wants to invite is Brazil.

The 34-year-old has scored the winner of the 2010 World Cup for Spain. Iniesta is also in the Spanish squad for the 2018 World Cup. Iniesta recently broke up Barca after 22 years of sticking to move to Japan Vissel Kobe.
