Borussia Dortmund has announced the appointment of Lucie Favre as the new head coach of the team with a limited contract until 2020.
Shortly after the season in the Bundesliga ended, BLD Dortmund decided to terminate the deal with coach Peter Stoeger after more than 6 months lead. Austrian strategist replaced Peter Bosz on 10/12/2017 and helped Dortmund overcome the crisis to finish the season at No. 4 on the table, the ticket to the Champions League next season.
Coach Stoeger's departure was predictable before, when the BLD team did not have any static extension of his contract. After less than two weeks of breaking up with Stoeger, the Ruhr team announced their replacement on the hot seat. Dortmund's home side have announced that Lucien Favre will become the club's new captain with a two-year contract, to June 2020.
Coach Favre, who broke up Nice after two years stick, had a good time in the Bundesliga. The 60-year-old Swiss ruler led Hertha Berlin (2007-2009) and M'gladbach (2011-2015). In particular, the most outstanding achievement is helping M'gladbach finish third in the Bundesliga season 2013/14.
