Major changes in personnel
Although Lucien Favre was officially launched yesterday, he has worked extensively with Dortmund on human resources issues. This can easily be seen from the fact that Marcel Schmelzer had withdrawn from Dortmund shortly after Favre was appointed. A move showed that Favre received a lot of support from the Ruhr team in organizing the team.
Schmelzer has long been out of style. The left back from the position of captain of Dortmund helped Favre more favorable in reorganizing the team, creating a new atmosphere in the dressing room.
Not only Schmelzer but a variety of locations in Dortmund will also be refreshed. Roman Buerki may have to give up the new pitcher Marwin Hitz brought back from Augsburg. The midfielder of Sokratis will also be replaced, as Dortmund are looking for new elements to strengthen the defense.
Another big change is personnel at the center. Dortmund scouts have been searching the net for the Ruhr team to qualify. The star that Dortmund wants to own is Alvaro Morata of Chelsea. But the latest news is that Favre wants Brazil striker Willian Jose, who has scored 20 goals and four assists in 40 games for Real Sociedad this season.
Shaping the new gameplay
In addition to the huge staffing changes that Fazvre has been carrying out after taking over in Dortmund, the selection and construction of the Ruhr team for a fit play is also a difficult one. This season, all of Dortmund's plans were completely bankrupt. Early in the season, Dortmund was led by coach Peter Bosz, who liked the 4-3-3 scheme and attacking play. But after sacking Dutch strategist Peter Stoeger, Dortmund is more pragmatic. Therefore, inheritance of play is not.
Coming to Dortmund, Favre will have to beat them all to do it again. A great advantage for Favre is that he has a youthful and quality force. Not only that, the Marco Reus, Maximilian Philipp, Christian Pulisic, Jadon Sancho ... are the players are longing for the title. Such a force, if well-conditioned, would return to being a highly combat-oriented unit.
In the past, Favre used the 4-4-1-1 scheme while still leading M'gladbach and 4-3-3 when leading Nice. The Swiss strategist was quite successful with the two sketches and did not exclude that he would apply one of the two schemes to Dortmund. But more importantly to the Ruhr team is that Favre always build team to play the active direction, attacking.
With potential midfield players such as Nuri Sahin, Mahmoud Dahoud, Julian Weigl and the attacking strikers there and going to be strengthened, Favre will be building a game for Dortmund. New, attractive and effective than the Ruhr team has shown in recent years.
