Russian President Vladimir Putin recently announced that the country has completed the preparation process for the 2018 World Cup and is ready to host the team in June.
Russian President Vladimir Putin and FIFA President Gianni Infantino visited the World Cup fans' passport center in Sochi and received a fan passport (FAN ID).
President Putin visited the center, located in the podium of Sochi Stadium, where he was greeted by FIFA President Gianni Infantino and Media Minister Nikolai Nikiforov. With the help of the electronic queuing machine, Minister Nikiforov printed the votes for Putin and Infantino.
Minister Nikiforov said that 21 similar centers were held in the World Cup cities as well as 90 mobile stations to issue ID cards. So far, about 600,000 passports have been granted to football fans.
The 2018 World Cup was first held in Russia from June 14 to July 15 in 12 stadiums in 11 cities.
